Why Brown's Creek Originals? 

The town of Stillwater is located in the St. Croix Valley and considered the birthplace of the great state of Minnesota.  And Brown's Creek is an actual creek and a cornerstone of Stillwater's very first settlers, and it all harkens back to a time when most things were still done by hand, and all furniture was just that - furniture.  Real wood, solidly built, beautiful, purposeful and long lasting that could be passed on for generations.

Furniture for your fortress

Your home is your castle, your refuge, your place of comfort and living for you and your family.  And for some, it's also your family fortress where you and your family and things are protected.  And for you, we have special options for your furniture: hidden and secure compartments and hide away places for your things of high monetary, sentimental or home security value.  These compartments can even be secured with electronic, magnetic or mechanical locks, and no one will ever know they are there.

Hand crafted, not mass produced

All pieces are crafted one at time, by hand with high quality hand and power tools, but no coldhearted mass-production equipment such as computer controlled saws or lasers are used.  And because of this, your piece(s) may have subtle and beautiful imperfections inherent with hand-crafted wood.  

About Me

Since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed woodworking and it still amazes me that I could take a tree, a huge tree that grew from a tiny little seed, and cut it into planks and boards of wood and create almost whatever you want from it, and if done right would last for years and years. 

My Grampa Tom was a Polish immigrant and a high-end home builder in the Twin Cities, especially in Richfield, and that was back when Richfield was just a field.  He taught his 5 sons the building and carpentry trades along with hard and honest work ethics, and those time-honored skills and ethics were then passed down to me by my dad, starting when I was about 5 years old.  So over the years, I've always loved doing woodworking and home improvement projects around the house.

Fast forward to 2018 and I noticed our son's dresser was falling apart.  This was a big box store, pressed particle board dresser that was just a few years old but it was already completely shot!  So we started looking around and it was hard to find a really well-built dresser.  So I invested in new and upgraded tools and built a dresser for him, and in the process, my love of woodworking was reignited.  So then I built a TV stand/organizer for our living room TV and video games and then a large dresser for my wife.   

Then others started asking if I could build a piece or pieces for them, and it continues and so here we are.
